The Midnight Garden

My self-portraits explore my inner state of mind, sexuality and trauma which I usually avoid to confront. I like to express myself through the self-portraits because it is relieving for whatever I am going through at the moment. I believe that self-portraits should be the window to the mind of the photographer and it should tell the story of the photographer or what is inside his head. I am almost naked in most of my self-portraits because I don’t want the clothes to distort my story. I want people to see and understand me without the influence of what I am wearing or how I am wearing. The main theme of this series is body dysmorphia, desperate attempts to find love and unsolved traumas. In the photographs, I portrayed myself being in the garden at midnight because this is where I am mentally right now.
